Camino Verde
Camino Verde is a sister organization to Chokechaka, and we are happy to help organize excursions to this extraordinary agroforestry project in the Peruvian rainforest. Located a short flight from Cusco, near Puerto Maldonado in the Madre de Dios region, it sits at the heart of the Amazon’s extraordinary biodiversity.
The project invites artists, researchers, activists, and creatives from all disciplines to engage with its mission of reforestation and sustainability. It offers a unique setting where creativity meets conservation, providing space for inspiration, collaboration, and the development of innovative ideas in close connection with the natural environment.
Its residency program hosts 1–8 participants at a time, with stays ranging from one week to several months, supporting those working in fields such as art, ecology, and environmental activism.
Please email us at chokechakaartistresidency.com to inquire about visiting Camino Verde.

Patsy Craig / AWA
Patsy is a partner and neighbor based in Huaran and offers personalized excursions for our Chokechaka artists throughout the Cusco region. Her work is deeply informed by over seven years living in Cusco and ongoing collaborations with Indigenous communities across the Andes and Amazon through her cultural platform AWA.
With a bi-cultural US–Peru–UK background and a foundation in fine arts and cultural studies, she creates thoughtful, research-led experiences for creatives seeking alternatives to conventional tours. She co-develops itineraries that can be shaped around each artist’s research interests, offering immersive access to local knowledge, environments, and contemporary cultural practice.
Patsy also leads 1–3 day visits to weaving communities in the Lares district and the Sacred Valley, focusing on traditional textile techniques, motifs, and critical conversations around cultural appropriation.
All experiences are fully tailored and developed in dialogue with participating artists.
