CHOKECHAKA Artist Residency in Peru's Sacred Valley
A creative community for artists, musicians, scholars, and cultural workers in the heart of the Peruvian Andes.
What We Offer
Year-round artist residencies in Huaran, Peru, 80 minutes from Cusco. Our program hosts 1-8 residents for 1-4+ week sessions in a serene mountain setting at 9,850 ft elevation.
Residents pursue creative work while engaging with Andean culture, traditional practices, and the Sacred Valley's rich history. We provide accommodations, workspace, and connections to local artisans, weavers, and cultural practitioners.
We welcome artists, musicians, curators, scholars, activists, and cultural workers seeking creative development and cultural immersion. We prioritize those whose practice shows receptivity to new environments and cross-cultural exchange.
Founded by Artists
Chokechaka ("The Golden Bridge" in Quechua) was created by multimedia artist Jennifer Zackin and musician Adolfo Ibáñez Ayerve as a bridge between Cusco's heritage and international artistic practice.
